Clemson Cozy Coupe

Our neighbors recently passed on to us a well-loved Cozy Coupe which their girls outgrew. As soon as we wheeled it across the street, I was conjuring up plans for a Clemson makeover.
After breaking the car down and giving it a good scrub, we used spray paint to apply fresh colors. I had no idea how long it would take between coats! Each time I painted, I was able to get 2-3 light coats applied before waiting 5 days for the paint to dry. No doubt, our humid conditions were less than ideal for painting.
Once the base colors were set, I painted stripes on the roof, applied vinyl paws to the doors and glued a custom vanity plate to the back.
Getting the stripes on the roof was a bit more of a challenge than expected. I used painters tape to ensure clean lines but when I pulled the tape up it brought all the paint up with it. After a few rounds fighting with the tape, I got out a paintbrush and touched up the spots that needed it and moved on.
As for actual use, there is some scratching on the door which happened as soon as the girls started playing with the car. Otherwise, the car has held up well through a few weeks of daily play in the driveway and yard.
As for the critics, they love it! The girls take the car out every day for racing or running.
The only problem is that both kids can't fit in at the same time. And sharing really is hard.

Q. and the G.

This weekend we had the pleasure of visiting Peter's family in Georgia. While it was nice to see everyone, Q. stole the show! At 5+ months, she is quite expressive. And amused by her feet. Other than ceiling fans, they may be her favorite entertainment. Every time I got the camera out, Q. was game! She is quite fond of both barrel laughs and serious faces.
While Peter and I loved getting to see our growing niece, not everyone was delighted. The G. struggled. To be clear, G loves babies. He would lick Q.'s head, face, fingers, and toes every chance he got. He even scaled a couch in order to be near her. Something about babies drives Gunther wild! Of course, we had to control him because crazy animals and babies don't always play well together. And as a result, he spent most of the weekend like this:
He doesn't do so well at second fiddle. Poor G.

Baby Quinn

Peter and I made the trip down to Lilburn last weekend to meet the newest member of our family, Baby Quinn. Baby Quinn is Nancy and Will's daughter who we all eagerly awaited for 9 months and 1 day. It was so rewarding to see Nancy as a mom. Her new, forever role suites her beautifully.

Quinn was squirmy in the womb and is proving to be squirmy outside. When they are open, her big, currently blue eyes are always on the move investigating the world.
Aunt Lisa and I kept checking out Quinn's toes {or tingers as Aunt Lisa calls them since the long baby toes strongly resemble fingers}. Gunther and Lily kept checking out Quinn's everything; both pups made sure to give their own types of kisses to the newby.
As my friend and fellow blogger, Hawley of Team Scheider 1+1=3, pointed out, Quinn is already fully herself. We are all constantly changing and growing. I'm excited to be part of Quinn's life and can't wait to see how she's grown when we visit for Thanksgiving.
