One Announcement, Two Pictures

We have a bit of news. Cole is going to be a big sister in September!

We're so grateful for this new little life. To announce the news to our family and friends, we bought Cole a "big sister" shirt that she received at her birthday party (more details about and pictures of the party later). When we opened the gift with the shirt in it, no one made a peep. After a few seconds, Steph asked, "Is this for real?" We assured everyone it was and then saw eyes tear up.

Last week we took some pictures of Cole in her new shirt to pass around at the party since one years olds aren't known to hold still on command.

    1. Haha! KB, that just cracked me up. You're not the first person we've heard that from. 19 months is close....though not *that* close :)

    2. I am still very much recovering from Rory's babyhood so it seems a LOT closer to me, ha! I felt like I needed a shirt that said "I survived hurricane Rory" at her first birthday party. Seriously, though, I feel like I am a lone ranger. Almost everyone I know with a February first baby is expecting again.

    3. For real?! That's wild! In addition to our two, I know three women with February firsts and as far as I'm aware I'm the only one with number two on the way. Can I just say, if I was crafty at all (I'm not) I'd make that shirt for you. Too funny.

    4. ha, that would be hilarious. So how are you feeling? Did you have a good pregnancy with Cole?

    5. So I've been ill but I think/hope the worst is behind me. I was on bed rest at this point with Cole but this pregnancy hasn't shown any of those complications. Hopefully I can stay off of bed rest. I can't really imagine how that would go down with a one year old.

  5. Congratulations!!!! My sister and I are 18 months apart, which I absolutely LOVE (not so much when we were in high school...but now I do) AND my sister has two little girls that are 18 months apart too! There were definitely some sleepless nights at first, when the baby was up all night and the older daughter was up all day, but now they are on the same schedule :)

    1. I'm going to stay optistic that this next child will be a sleeper. Cole isn't! Perhaps with time her new brother or sister will wear her out and then they'll both sleep. I'm from 4 siblings in 5 years which I liked (more at some times than others, of course).
